What you need to know about importing to Jamaica.
Jamaica drives on the left, making UK right-hand drive vehicles immediately compatible. Customs processing is managed through the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA), with a mandatory pre-shipment inspection that must be completed before loading in the UK.

Roadworthiness inspection
Yes — Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is mandatory and must be obtained in the UK before loading. Post-import Certificate of Fitness inspection is required before registration.
Notable restrictions
Individual importers are limited to one motor car per 3-year period. Salvaged or structurally damaged vehicles are prohibited. PSI certificate is valid for 30 days only; vehicles not cleared within that window require re-inspection.

Buyer note
The Pre-Shipment Inspection certificate must be obtained in the UK before the vehicle is shipped — this cannot be waived and its absence will delay clearance significantly.
